Do I need a criminal lawyer in Mississippi?

You have a right to a lawyer in Mississippi, but you do not have to have one. You can represent yourself. But it is my personal opinion that no one should face criminal charges, big or small, in the state of Mississippi without an attorney. Does not have to be me, but should be someone trained as a lawyer that knows what they are doing. I don’t mean to be too plainspoken, but I have the opportunity to observe many people representing themselves in court while I wait with my clients, and most of them wind up the legal equivalent of roadkill.

If you are accused of a crime in Mississippi, whether you did it or not you need to take advantage of your right to counsel. A good lawyer can be the difference in winning or losing your case, and a life of freedom or a life of incarceration. At the very least you can call for the free consultation.
